Presentation & Training Evening ~ New Fire Safety Guidelines For Landlords
Date: Tue 9th September 19:00 - 21:30
Description:This evening is for York RLA Members only.
On 23rd July 2008 ,new National Fire Saftey Guidance was launched by LACORS (the Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services) with the intention that it be used by all local authorities, landlords and property managers in the UK Private Rented Sector (PRS).
After extensive lobbying by York RLA, City of York Council have now confirmed that they will be adopting these new 'National' guidelines as opposed to he draft local guidelines that they have been workig to for the last 18 months.
These new guidelines affect ALL sizes of rented property and it is essential that all members are aware of their existance, understand how to carry out their own 'Risk Assesments' and know what to do to ensure their properties comply.
We have arranged for Neil Marsden, an Independant Environmental Health Consultant, to explain the contents of this new guidance, exactly what landlords need to do and when they need to do it. Crucial to compliance with these guidelines is the need for landlords to carry out a Risk Assesment of their property/properties. Neil will explain in detail how to do this and what records must be kept.
