Description:A Presentation by Josephine Leffler (Manager) from 'The Energy Efficiency Advice Centre' on the introduction of Energy Performance Certificates for rented property.
This new legislation becomes law on 1st October 2008 and requires all landlords to have all their properties assessed by a qualified Energy Assessor and to make Energy Performance Certificates available to all prospective and new tenants. Josephine will explain the background to this legislation and exactly what Landlords must do and when they must do it.
Jim Weeks is from a company called York Domestic Energy Assessors who will then explain the energy assessment process in detail, including what is checked during an assessment and how these affect the final assessment of the property. Jim will also cover the costs involved.
