Description:A Presentation by Colin Hunter, Station Manager North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and Pamela Shaw, Senior Environmental Health Officer City of York Council on the fire safety requirements in general rented accommodation and in licensable Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO's).
Many York RLA landlords will be aware of numerous pieces of legislation/guidance relating to fire safety but many of us are still confused as to exactly what we have to do. This is particularly true since the so called 'LACORS Clarification' was issued earlier this year.
Colin Hunter will endeavour to explain and clarify the following:
- Housing Act 2004
- Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
- Regulatory Reform Order (RRO)
- Local Authorities Coordinators of Regulatory Services (LACORS Fire Safety Guidance launched July 2008
- The 'Clarification of the LACORS Guidance' issued in March 2009
